Maintenance

Switch off the power (etched glass) before cleaning the window or panel. Clean the window or panel only with a soft cloth and gentle cleanser, do not use abrasive or chemical cleaners on the film. Do not use other liquids and soaked cloth or sponge. Avoid abrasively cleaning edges of the film to mitigate possible damage and delamination. If necessary, carefully wipe “across” edges of the film (from the center of film toward outside edges) instead of wiping inwards or along edges. DO NOT use any ammonia-based cleaners (i.e. Windex); or tools that can scratch the surface. The Smart Film is scratch-resistant but not scratch-proof. When the Smart Film is clean and dry (including the edges), power can be switched on again.

The expected lifespan is at least 100,000 hours. This means, in theory, the Smart Film could be continuously turned on for a duration of no less than 12 years. It is our advice, however, to switch the foil to the etched glass setting (for example during the night or in the weekends) when it is not necessary. This way you give the Smart Film a much longer lifespan.
